Product Description
Ventilation tubes are operated into the ear drum. Ventilation disorders in the middle ear should thus be regulated and the draining of any secretion present from the tympanic cavity made possible.
The most important distinguishing feature of the types available is the duration that the tubes can be used for. There are three categories to differentiate between:
– Short-term tubes (e.g. Shepard)
– Middle-term tubes (e.g. collar button)
– Long-term tubes (e.g. T-tube)
Today, there is a very wide range of models in various materials. It is not easy for the user to make his choice, particularly as many sorts are very similar. Personal experience and preferences play an important role in the choice making process. In the following pages we will introduce you, with a short description, to the most frequently used types. If you cannot find your model of preference, or if you have any questions, we will be happy to provide further assistance.
