Internal Nasal Splints
Internal nasal splints are used after rhinological operations to support and / or protect the nasal septum. It is absolutely vital that the splint and the septum do not stick to one another, which is why two materials that have these characteristics are very popular for this purpose i.e. silicone and fluoroplastic. Due to their anti-adhesive surfaces, both substances prevent sticking to secretion or tissue. The differences are found primarily in their flexibility and rigidity.
